After a conservative student group in Washington, D.C., complained that it was being threatened, the conservative media reported that campus security did not take its concerns seriously.
Despite Fox News’ report on the matter, nothing was done.
When the Young America's Foundation (YAF) chapter at George Washington University complained of unspecified threats from the left because they were bringing conservative speaker Ben Shapiro to campus, YAF Program Officer for Public Relations Spencer Brown contended that campus authorities did absolutely nothing.
"In a time where we see leftists continuing to escalate their anti-conservative rhetoric – even spreading sometimes into violent attacks – you can't just brush it off anymore,” Brown asserted. “You do have to kind of take it seriously, but unfortunately, the campus authorities there didn't investigate it."
Despite the predictable outcries from radical students about Shapiro's appearances on various campuses, Brown says there is an abundance of other students anxious to hear what he has to say.
"The event sold out within 15 minutes when tickets were made available earlier in the year,” the YAF spokesman pointed out. “But then, on the evening of the event, there was a standby line with close to 200 people in it who didn't get tickets, but were hoping for the chance to have a seat – if someone didn't show."
Brown insists that in reality, leftists are afraid of Shapiro because they are unable to refute his conservative message.
