Dome of the Rock 2Christian college students from across the U.S. have participated in a leadership program that allows them to experience the Christian roots of their faith firsthand.

Covenant Journey was started four years ago by Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver, who says the program is designed to counter the alarming percentage of young people who disconnect from their Christian faith after high school.

Participants include students from a wide variety of academic and career choices nationwide, and those students travel to Israel for a 10-day journey that connects them with their Christian roots.

Covenant Journey travels to Israel five times a year, underwriting most of the trip and allowing the students to make the once-in-a-lifetime trip for only $500.

"And literally it ignites their faith like nothing else. All the dots come together," Staver says. "And when their Christian faith and foundation is set right, everything else falls in place, from worldview to activism, to their calling and destiny in life."
