Love winsWith the bravado of a junior high bully, a college lecturer at a California university is boasting he'd like to rip Ben Shapiro's arm off for "charity."

At the University of California-Merced, sociology lecturer Fernando Cortes Chirino is refusing to debate Shapiro but has other ideas for a confrontation – "ripping this fool's shoulder out of his socket."

Shapiro, a well-known conservative writer and speaker, frequently draws far-left protesters when he speaks on college campuses. He is speaking at Merced in February.

Nadra Enzi of Project 21 says he's not surprised by such braggadocio.

"We've gone through riots. We've gone through speech censorship on college campuses enforced by mobs of students and outside dissenters," he observes. "So this isn't surprising. Now, it's sobering and it is disappointing."

Chirino is calling for a martial arts contest between him and Shapiro in which the winner would get $40,000 to give to charity, according to the dailysignal.com.

It certainly appears, Enzi adds, that the days of open and honest debate are long gone, likening the current climate to a street brawl.

"We're far beyond the days of—sadly—gentle men and women debating in the public square," he warns. "It's pretty much become the street fight in the American culture."
