Soon after Donald Trump won the election and became president-elect, a list of outrageous demands was presented by progressives at George Washington University – a trend that does not end at the school.
The Progressive Student Union is demanding -- among other things -- that the university combat white supremacy, become a sanctuary campus, provide all-inclusive bathrooms and more.
Horace Cooper, who serves as the co-chair for the National Center for Public Policy Research’s Project 21, contends that students today have unrealistic expectations.
"Students really have very unwholesome, unhealthy ideas about how the university is supposed to operate," Cooper asserts.
Pushing back against this growing radicalism on campuses, Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) is proposing legislation that would cut federal funding to schools that take down or prohibit displays of the American flag – a proposal that Cooper fully supports.
"I would predict that as soon as even one chamber votes on this measure, you're going to see a significant reversal on the part of these universities,” Cooper anticipated. “The truth of the matter is [that] they should never have allowed this to get this far."
Cooper is confident that such a measure could stand up to constitutional scrutiny.
