empty mangerAs America gets ready to once again  celebrate the birth of Christ, it appears that liberal college and university officials are doing their best to tamp down the sacredness of Christmas.

Schools throughout the nation are discouraging students from displaying nativity scenes, crosses and pictures of Jesus –which might be offensive to some.

Cultural analyst Janice Crouse maintains that higher ed Leftists would like to hollow out the meaning of the holiday.

"The Left has tried to take the meaning out of Christmas, tried to have entertainment without there being any morals, tried to have entertainment that doesn't have any underlying concept to it – any solid philosophy behind it,” asserted Crouse, who authored Children at Risk. “And you have something that's essentially empty. And I think that's the whole purpose in taking all the meaning out of Christmas."

She contends that it is time for Christians to stop accepting this liberal attack on Christmas as being "business as usual."

"It's time we started thinking about it maybe a bit more deeply than we have in the past,” Crouse impressed. “What about respect for the nation's majority, for those of us who are Christians? Isn't it time our culture showed respect for something that is deeply meaningful to the majority of citizens in this nation?"

As an example of academia's contempt for Christmas, Oregon State University recommends restricting holiday decorations to snowflakes, snow sculptures and sleds, according to Campus Reform.
