standardized testsThe wife of a well-known Christian actor is making the case for parents overseeing their children's education.

"I'm an advocate for homeschooling because I found that it was very successful and it's a way to preserve the family unit," Sam Sorbo told the Fox Business channel during a recent interview.

Sorbo is the wife of actor Kevin Sorbo and mother of three.

She was interviewed about her book, They're Your Kids, which chronicles her journey to being a "homeschooling mom."

"You should be taking your kids to school for education. They're not getting an education," she argued. "And the socialization they're getting with the bullying and everything is quite questionable so you really have to rethink it."

Sorbo also railed against the Common Core federal standards, saying she doesn't understand the term "standardized education."

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard – standardized education," she told the business channel. "Do you want your child to be common or exceptional?"
