A former acting director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Services says many within the Democrat Party are "truly tyrannical" and not afraid to politicize law enforcement to go after their opponents.
With the new administration coming into power, Ken Cuccinelli, a former attorney general of Virginia and a strong advocate for border enforcement, has taken a position as a visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation, where he will work on immigration and national security issues.
During an appearance Tuesday on American Family Radio, Cuccinelli expressed his concerns about how the left is targeting Trump supporters, including "Christian nationalists."
"It is the most severe politicization of law enforcement and national security personnel that I have ever seen on this kind of speed and scale," he said. "A lot of people have a hard time believing it, but there are a lot of people on the left who are truly tyrannical, and I include the use of force and violence in that."
He went on to warn that this attitude is not just within the Democrat Party.
"Understand what makes up what we think of as the Democrat Party these days; the base is very radical," Cuccinelli noted. "They are truly violent communists, and they're using these Alinsky-like tactics, and we have to sort of press through this phase and fully expect Republicans to retake the House and Senate in two years."
But two years is a long time, and Cuccinelli warned that the left "can do a lot of damage in that time."
