The second and most recent lawsuit was filed by an Ontario woman against Mindgeek, the parent company of Pornhub, accusing the website of hosting child sexual abuse material.

Lisa Thomas of the National Center On Sexual Exploitation tells One News Now more lawsuits are likely forthcoming.

“From what I'm understanding,” she advises, “women and possibly men who have been exploited on this website are coming forward on a regular basis to let advocates know about the abuse they've experienced and how that's been shared on this website."

The lawsuit involving the Ontario woman was filed in Quebec. It comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed in California by more than 40 survivors of abuse and sex trafficking who accuse Pornhub of playing a role in their horrific exploitation.

According to Thompson, Pornhub serves as an aggregator website for pornography, similar to You Tube hosting videos. It is owned by MindGeek.

“Millions of videos are uploaded by users all around the world to this website every year,” Thompson says of the porn site, “and there is no way to verify who these people were, who the people depicted were."

Mastercard and Visa have withdrawn their services from the porn site, the story also reported.

National Center has urged the Department of Justice, congressional lawmakers, and state attorneys general to shut down Pornhub for profiting from sexual abuse.
