"Celebrate Diversity" bannerA new ad for the popular sandwich cookie isn't so sweet, according to a conservative watchdog group that aims to stop the exploitation of children, especially by the entertainment media.

The ad, in partnership with Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), involves a lesbian bringing her partner home to visit family. One parent is welcoming; the other is hesitant about accepting the relationship. But the latter parent later comes around and paints a fence in rainbow colors. The homosexual couple also kisses in the ad.

"A loving world starts with a loving home," the commercial says at the end. "Show you're a #ProudParent."

Not everyone supports the campaign.

"One Million Moms is concerned about how this would desensitize audiences, children, and adults by brainwashing them and glamorizing and normalizing this lifestyle choice," says Monica Cole, director of the socially conservative organization that believes in traditional marriage.

One Million Moms is asking people to sign a petition asking Oreo and its parent company, Mondelez International, to remain neutral in the culture war.

"We're also asking that they not collaborate with Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)," Cole continues. "As long as they do this, then we would not feel comfortable purchasing any of their products, because we'd be supporting their cause and agenda."
