anti-SemitismAnother blatant case of anti-Semitism has been reported, this time at a well-known university in Massachusetts.

With most campuses virtually empty because of the pandemic, a perpetrator or perpetrators clandestinely spray painted the word "Palestine" in Arabic on the Hillel at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

"I think they were animated by a tremendous amount of antipathy [and] hatred toward the State Israel and the Jewish people," submits Sarah Stern, founder and president of Endowment for Middle East Truth. "They do not like the Jewish presence on campus."

Amherst Student Government Association President Rachel Ellis has condemned the graffiti in an email to the community – a move Stern says is important.

"We're seeing a proliferation [on campuses] throughout the United States of this very pernicious boycott, divest and sanction movement, BDS movement, against the State of Israel," Stern says.

UMass Hillel has been in contact the university and local police over the matter.
