Pornhub, owned by MindGeek, has drawn fire for some time over its practices but more recently the complaints started growing when the website allowed a pimp to post more than 50 videos of a sex-trafficked, 15-year-old girl.

Jake Roberson of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation tells OneNewsNow that incident is certainly not the only one on the website.

“These cases with Pornhub in particular,” he says, “are stemming from increasing evidence and examples where Pornhub is hosting material, child sexual abuse material, videos of sex-trafficking victims being raped, rape victims who are minors.”

U.S. Ben Sasse of Nebraska is calling on the Department of Justice to launch an investigation, one that could lead to prosecution based on current law.

Robertson and National Center hope it will open a bigger discussion of why other pornography that violates obscenity law has not been prosecuted.

At this time, the National Center spokesman says, there appears to be no intention to stop them from posting such videos. The website does not require any verification to view them, Roberson warns.

“All it takes right now for anybody to upload a video to Pornhub,” he cautions, “is an email address.”

Very little has been removed, and in those cases, only when they've been threatened with legal action.
