Oklahoma parents are learning about a state measure that critics warn puts the state government in charge of their children.
A bill has been voted out of the Oklahoma House to the full floor that would prohibit professional counseling for minors with unwanted same-gender attraction and children who believe they are transgender.
Stephen Black of First Stone Ministries, located in Oklahoma City, says the bill proposes that homosexuality and transgenderism should be “embraced” by the citizens of The Sooner State.
LGBT supporters are using the same playbook – and false claims of widespread abuse– used successfully in other states to force the bill through, but Black sees a more sinister motive.
“If you just look at that for what it is,” he tells OneNewsNow, “it becomes very clear that this is a technique of recruitment of a new generation into homosexual behavior.”
Black also warns that the bill prevents parents from making decisions for their children, and literally “usurps” their authority and hands that power to the state government.
