Men who are robbed of fatherhood through abortion can use their grief to save other men and women from the scars of terminating preborn children, says a longtime pro-life activist.
On the weekend of Father’s Day, Eric Scheidler of Pro-Life Action League says it’s a good opportunity to recognize how men, in particular fathers, are demonized in our current culture.
“We keep hearing about ‘toxic masculinity’ and of course men are being completely thrown to the sidelines on this issue of abortion,” he observes, “as if somehow because we don't give birth to children we have no stake in the lives of our own unborn children.”
Scheidler, a father of eight, says Father’s Day is a celebration of a man’s unique role as well as recognizing our Heavenly Father, too. But it’s true, he adds, that many men suffer with tremendous sorrow after the mother aborts the child.
To help with the healing, Scheidler suggests men jump into the pro-life cause by volunteering at pregnancy help centers and taking a stand for the unborn outside an abortion clinic.
