Statue of T. Jefferson at Hofstra Univ.A black conservative does not agree with the latest push to have a Thomas Jefferson statue removed from a New York university's campus.

Demetrius Minor of Project 21 says taking away the monument – which has been defaced with messages like "decolonize" and "Black Lives Matter" -- would solve nothing.

"I think this is a clear example of individuals who want to ignore or overturn history that can't be overturned," Minor submits.

Hofstra University students and staff are among the protestors, as are Planned Parenthood representatives and the Hofstra College Democrats.

Minor tells OneNewsNow he does not have a problem with "wanting to bring awareness to issues that impact minority lives, or anyone's lives for that matter. But when you engage in destructive, harmful tactics," he continues, "you're going to turn off a lot of individuals who might otherwise be interested in what you have to say."

According to Campus Reform, Hofstra University President Stuart Rabinowitz is refusing to remove the statue at the will of the Board of Trustees.
