Trump plan to end Obama's transgender privileges lauded

Trump and Obama at WH post-electionConservatives believing that sex is biologically determined at birth are ecstatic about President Donald Trump’s proposal to roll back the transgender ideology established by former President Barack Obama.

The biggest liberal daily in the Big Apple announced the Trump administration is considering the roll-back to end the gender confusion – one that escalated under pro-LGBT Obama’s watch.

“The Trump administration is considering narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth – the most drastic move yet in a governmentwide effort to roll back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law,” The New York Times reported. “A series of decisions by the Obama administration loosened the legal concept of gender in federal programs – including in education and health care, recognizing gender largely as an individual’s choice and not determined by the sex assigned at birth.”

Driving back Obama’s abomination …

Because many of the pro-LGBT privileges put America’s youth in physical – and emotional – danger, many Americans vehemently opposed Obama’s radical new policies catering to the left.

“The policy prompted fights over bathrooms, dormitories, single-sex programs and other arenas where gender was once seen as a simple concept,” the Times’ Erica L. Green, Katie Benner and Robert Pear recalled. “Conservatives – especially evangelical Christians – were incensed.”

Obama’s LGBT privileges have been seen as particularly endangering vulnerable women and children – exposing them to potentially being exploited by sexual predators in areas where they are most susceptible to abuse.

“But the transgender ideology demands that the federal government enforce rules which help people easily switch their legal sex – regardless of biology,” Breitbart News reported. “This ideology would eliminate many single-sex institutions, including sports leagues, showers and bathrooms.”

The New York daily obtained a memo from Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is spearheading the attempt to establish a legal definition of sex under Title IX – a federal civil rights law that prohibits government-funded education programs from discriminating by gender.

“[Key government agencies must adopt an explicit and uniform definition of gender that is determined] on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable,” the Trump HHS document reads.

Instead of leaving it up to a person’s whim as to whether one wants to identify as male, female – or something else – HHS is moving to establish a no-nonsense, practical solution that has worked fine for societies over the millennia.

“The agency’s proposed definition would define sex as either male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with, according to a draft reviewed by the Times,” Green, Benner and Pear noted. “Any dispute about one’s sex would have to be clarified using genetic testing.”

The proposed change back to practicality was drafted last spring and has been circulating ever since.

“Sex means a person’s status as male or female based on immutable biological traits identifiable by or before birth,” the memo states. “The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex – unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence.”

Less than half a percent of Americans would have their new LGBT-friendly gender status revoked if the administration’s new definition of gender is adopted over Obama’s.

“The new definition would essentially eradicate federal recognition of the estimated 1.4 million Americans who have opted to recognize themselves – surgically or otherwise – as a gender other than the one they were born into,” the Times noted.

A return to reason …

American College of Pediatricians President Dr. Quentin Van Meter is pleased that the Trump administration is planning on returning to a common sense policy – instead of catering to LGBT activists’ agenda in the name of so-called “equal” or “civil” rights.

“It is high time that governmental agencies at the national and local levels return to valid science, which reveals that there are two biologic sexes, and only two: male and female,” Van Meter asserted, according to Breitbart News. “Gender identity is a social construct – not a biologic one – and gender-specific rights have no place in regulation or law.”

MassResistance Director Arthur Schaper also applauded the president for observing science over a leftist political agenda.

“President [Donald] Trump’s commonsense decision to recognize gender as a biologically defined, immutable aspect of human nature [should be welcomed],” insisted Schaper, who also serves as the state director of California MassResistance.

Problems with Obama’s transgender ideology

The head of HHS’s Office of Civil Rights, Roger Severino, said the legal system found it hard to digest Obama’s radical new policies on transgenderism.

“A federal court has blocked HHS’s rule on gender identity and termination of pregnancy as contrary to law and infringing the rights of healthcare providers across the country,” Severino recounted, according to Breitbart. “The court order remains in full force and effect today, and HHS is abiding by it as we continue to review the issue.”

Obama attempted to squeeze the LGBT agenda into his signature “Affordable Healthcare Act,” but it did not escape judges’ attention with the foreseen detrimental effects of establishing such rules.

“In January 2017, a federal court issued a nationwide injunction against enforcement of Obamacare regulations that refer to gender identity and termination of pregnancy,” Breitbart’s Dr. Susan Berry explained. “The rules were intended to end discrimination based on gender identity. The injunction prohibits HHS’s OCR from enforcing some of Obamacare’s requirements as they pertain to persons who claim to be of a gender that is incompatible with their biological sex.”

Caitlin Oakley – who serves as the national spokeswoman and senior advisor to the office of the assistant secretary for public affairs at HHS – divulged that Obama did not try to resist the court’s rejection of his radical attempt to change gender to something that is seen as fluid.

“The Obama administration’s broad definition of ‘sex’ was enjoined by a federal court on a nationwide basis in December 2016, and the Obama administration did not appeal,” Oakley informed. “That court found that the Obama administration regulation was overbroad and inconsistent with the text of the 1972 Title IX law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex.”

Trump commended

Pro-family organizations are relieved that America now has a president who is puts national security and the protection of its citizens above special interests promoted by the left.

“President Trump’s announced ban on so-called transgenders serving in the military was one welcome reform early in his administration,” Schaper stated. “We hope that he will continue to re-assert the pre-eminence of scientific research and genetic evidence in matters relating to gender. These reforms and more to come will put an end to the coerced, abusive LGBT agenda originally enforced by the Obama administration and his cabinet secretaries.”

Schaper was referring to the commander-in-chief giving officials overseeing the nation’s security in Washington, D.C., permission to keep those identifying as transgender from serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“Earlier this year, Trump authorized the ability of the Pentagon to ban transgender individuals from joining the military – with limited exceptions,” Fox News recounted. “Maj. David Eastburn – a Pentagon spokesman – said the announcement of a new policy would have no immediate practical effect on the military because the Pentagon has been obliged to continue to recruit and retain transgender people in accordance with current law.”

Even though the move would have affected a miniscule proportion of those serving in the military, transgender activists grossly exaggerated the effect Trump’s order would have had on national defense.

“A 2016 study by the Rand Corp. estimated that nearly 4,000 transgender troops were on active duty and in the reserves, Politico reported,” Fox News’ Andrew O’Reilly noted. “But LGBT advocacy groups in the military put the figure at around 15,000, the report said.”

American Principles Project Senior Fellow Jane Robbins also invited the pro-family move by the Trump administration as “welcome news” – if the report is true about Trump challenging and likely scrapping Obama’s transgender privileges.

“Not only does government affirmation of gender dysphoria hurt the very people it claims to help, but there is no serious argument that Congress intended the word ‘sex’ to include ‘gender identity’ when it passed Title IX,” Robbins argued, according to Breitbart. “It is constitutionally inappropriate for federal bureaucrats to interpret the term in a way not intended by Congress. The recourse for proponents of the broad definition is to lobby Congress to enact it. But until the legislature takes that step, ‘sex’ should be interpreted to mean ‘sex.’”

U.S. Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) gave accolades to Trump, as well.

“[The Trump administration is] taking the initiative to correct the flawed policies of the former administration that were forced onto innocent young children who attend government schools,” the conservative grassroots organization announced in a statement given to Breitbart. “Title IX of the civil rights law states that schools receiving federal money cannot discriminate based on a student’s gender.”

USPIE proceeded to condemn Obama for catering to LGBT activists instead of protecting vulnerable citizens.

“The Obama administration blurred the lines that define gender with its transgender bathroom edict threatening government schools with the loss of federal funding if they continued to protect schoolchildren with private bathroom and locker room policies,” the conservative group added. “The Obama administration took advantage of every opportunity to advance the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) movement through federal agencies without constitutional authority. [Our mission is] to end federal overreach in education and return control of education to parents and local communities.”
