A pro-family advocacy group is finding success in targeting a controversial sitcom that mocks teachers.
The television program on TV Land is called Teachers, and Monica Cole with OneMillionMoms.com contends that the show has many problems.
"Not only is the content completely inappropriate, [but] the commercials that come on even earlier in the evening during family-friendly programs are just as explicit as the program – in just smaller bites,” Cole explained.
OneMillionMoms has consistently gone before advertisers on the show to ask them to pull their support, and this has paid off.
"Every single sponsor we have contacted has pulled their financial support,” the pro-family advocate shared. “They have pulled in, but they have still pulled their support."
However, the producers of the show appear to be digging in their heals to keep the program on the air.
"We wonder what their agenda is – why they're must blatantly wanting to air inappropriate material that [is] involving young cast members," she stressed.
Cole told OneNewsNow that the members of her pro-family group are not happy with the way the show mocks educators.
"So many of our supporters are teachers or retired teachers, and they are furious that teachers are being represented in the manner that TV Land's program is portraying our educators and our teachers," Cole noted.
