Pro-LGBT funding did not end with the Obama administration, as a two-year study – questioning 4- to 6-year-olds about their “internal sense of gender identity – is being funded by the government.
The research project is being conducted by The University of Washington (UW), which was awarded a $138,000 grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Some 250 children between four and six years old, along with their parents, arebeing interviewed about “gendered behavior” – with special attention given to those exhibiting unnatural tendencies.
It pays to be ‘gay’
Many argue that NSF is spending taxpayer dollars for the Seattle, Washington-based university to perform research that flies in the face of the federal agency’s mission, which is primarily "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity and welfare."
However, NSF – which was established by the United States Congress back in 1950 – argues that exploring LGBTQ gender issues is essential for the healthy psychological development of America’s youth.
"Prominent theories of gender development have discussed the degree to which gender identity results from an internal sense of gender and socialization processes," NSF stated in its award abstract. "However, tests of these theories have been limited because, for most children, internal gender identity and environmental socialization substantially overlap, rendering it impossible to distinguish the relative impact of each factor on gender development."
The research, which will not conclude until June 2019, is designed to ultimately help youth explore and better understand unnatural sexual desires and/or behavior – but pro-family advocates see the study as a front to encourage and empower detrimental LGBTQ lifestyles.
"[The study is] a critical test of extant theory by examining gender development among children with atypical patterns of gender development," NSF maintains. "Specifically, this grant supports the investigation of whether established theories (e.g., social learning theory, social cognitive theory, gender schema theory) can account for a wider range of human gender experiences.”
Challenging the biblical teaching that male and females are genetically programmed to live out their natural gender roles according to their birth sex, the “gender schema theory” teaches that children learn to be male or female from the culture in which they are raised.
“The study will investigate whether gender theories – such as Gender Schema Theory that blames society on differences between genders – are sufficient for today's ‘wider range of human gender experiences,’ where there can be anywhere between 3, 37, and 58 genders,” The Washington Free Beacon reported. “Among the study's questions asked of preschoolers includes what gender toys they play with.”
The study evidently sets out to legitimize any kind of behavior that deviates from children’s natural sexuality.
“[The research examines] early and current gender socialization, children's internal sense of gender identity, children's gendered behavior and measures of related gender cognition (e.g., memory for gender-consistent vs. inconsistent behaviors)," NSF announced.
Evangelicals: Gender confusion must stop
Francis Chan, John Piper and J. I. Packer, along with several other evangelical leaders, have taken a bold stance against the education system’s indoctrination of youth in LGBT teachings. In order to protect America’s youth from being told that the LGBT lifestyle is healthy and natural, the pro-family advocates recently signed the “Nashville Statement” – a document that outlines God’s intention for males to conduct themselves as males and females to behave like females.
“The document was described by Pastor John Piper as a ‘Christian manifesto’ on human sexuality,” The Christian Post (CP) informed. “It contains a preamble and 14 articles.”
It starts out by alerting Americans that many influences in today’s society – including academia, the media and the entertainment industry – are working together to destroy the perfect and natural sexuality of man that God created.
"Evangelical Christians at the dawn of the 21st century find themselves living in a period of historic transition,” Piper stated in the preamble, according to CP. “As Western culture has become increasingly post-Christian, it has embarked upon a massive revision of what it means to be a human being. By and large, the spirit of our age no longer discerns or delights in the beauty of God's design for human life."
According to NSF and UW, the research project sets out to objectively discover information on human sexuality that will help society better cope with gender issues, but the Beacon reports that UW’s two project leads – researchers Kristina Olson and Selin Gülgöz – are heavily entrenched in work at the school that promotes and attempts to legitimize LGBT behavior.
In fact, both pro-LGBT researchers are involved with UW’s TransYouth Project – a school-funded effort that is geared to empower those who practice LGBT lifestyles.
"[The TransYouth Project] aims to help scientists, educators, parents and children better understand the varieties of human gender development," the UW project’s website proclaims. "Our current research study is recruiting children aged 3–12 who are transgender, gender nonconforming and siblings of gender nonconforming children. We are recruiting families from across the U.S. and Canada for this longitudinal study."
