Pro-family activists in Massachusetts are backing a Boston-area physician who was fired for sharing medical warnings about homosexuality.

Dr. Paul Church was fired earlier this year from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston, where he worked as a urologist.

OneNewsNow reported in a July story that the doctor was suing the hospital over his firing. He appeared in two hearings in late July to appeal his firing.

Beth Israel hospital (Boston)"The hospital is claiming by talking to other doctors about the medical facts and health risks about homosexuality that he is being discriminatory, which is a completely trumped-up charge," says MassResistance spokesman Sean Ryan.

In fact, Church engaged in a years-long battle with the politically correct hospital, which sponsored "gay pride" events at the same time Church warned in emails to hospital employees about the health dangers of homosexuality.

According to Ryan, the public is learning about Church's firing thanks to supporters who have been protesting at the hospital, and handing out flyers and explaining his firing to the public.

A report on that protest can be read here

One email he sent to hospital officials reads in part:

The evidence is irrefutable that behaviors common within the homosexual community are unhealthy and high risk for a host of serious medical consequences, including STD's, HIV and AIDS, anal cancer, hepatitis, parasitic intestinal infections, and psychiatric disorders.  Life expectancy is significantly decreased as a result of HIV/AIDS, complications from the other health problems, and suicide.

The doctor's appeal was heard by a hospital committee, which will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors.
