A well-known Christian psychologist and author is warning parents about a common practice. In his new book Bringing Up Girls, Dr. James Dobson -- evangelical Christian author, psychologist, and founder of Focus on the Family -- tackles many of the questions and issues parents with daughters face. He also encourages parents, especially dads, to be involved and proactive in the lives of their daughters. (See earlier story) In addition, Dobson's book tackles issues such as bullying -- and he gives a warning about a common practice. James Dobson small"I think the day for sleepovers is over. Child abuse is so rampant today and so pervasive that you just can't afford to run the risk, unless you're absolutely sure that that child is going to be protected in another home," he urges. "You can't afford one mistake in a lifetime, because it will be remembered for the rest of life." Dobson has just launched a new 30-minute radio ministry called Family Talk, which can be heard daily on American Family Radio.
