One major problem is that pornography has become socially normalized and that ignores the destructive nature associated with it.

Pastor Jason Kear of Gracepoint Sanctuary, located in Dublin, tells OneNewsNow the Church needs to wake up to the danger.

“There is a destructive nature,” he says, “to the core of who we are, how you see yourself, how you interact within yourself emotionally, and what kind of a self-image you have that pornography has a dark effect on.”

While some pastors are likely reluctant to preach about it, Kear says there needs to be a word from the pulpit.

“So when we can apply the Word of God to our hearts, where we can elevate the Word of God in our homes, when we preach with a passion and a boldness the Word of God in our churches,” the pastor insists, “it leads men to purity. It's part of the gift of being a part of the great church of Jesus Christ.”

Pastor Kear adds that the first line of defense is the home, where parents can protect and influence their children.
