Catholic bishopsA recent statement by the Archbishop of Chicago has many faithful Catholics calling for more resignations in the church.

It's been described as clearly a tone-deaf statement, coming on the heels of a fiercely incriminating grand jury report detailing more than a thousand abuse victims at the hands of 300 predator priests in Pennsylvania alone:

Cardinal Blase Cupich: "For [the pope] to get into each and every one of those aspects, in some way is inappropriate – and secondly, the pope has a bigger agenda. He's got to get on with other things of talking about the environment and protecting migrants and carrying on the work of the church. We're not going to go down a rabbit hole on this."

Cupich

Cupich made that statement during an interview with an NBC Chicago reporter about accusations that Pope Francis himself is involved in the cover-up of a gay predator priest.

CJ Doyle, executive director of the Catholic Action League, suggests adding Cupich's name to the growing list of Catholic leaders who need to be drummed out of the church.

"I think Cardinal Cupich is a disgrace and I think he ought to resign," he tells OneNewsNow. "And it's also a measure of just how obtuse and how clueless these modernists, these leftists in the Catholic hierarchy are."

Doyle contends there's a homosexual network in the church which has to be purged before it can recover from these dreadful scandals.

"This is a kind of homosexual, hostile takeover of the Catholic Church," he describes. "This is a kind of enemy occupation. Nothing will be rooted out, nothing will be changed if these people are allowed to remain in place."

Doyle says even if a good man were elected pope tomorrow – and that it's not a given that one is in the wings – it would take a generation to resolve the problem.
