As millions of Americans will be joining for the National Day of Prayer tomorrow, Christians in Australia will also be praying for the United States.
This will be the sixth consecutive year that Australia has been praying with America.
Warwick Marsh, a member of the National Day of Prayer and Fasting team in Australia, explains that the two countries have had a long history of working together, including fighting together in every war since the first World War.
"And so here we are now fighting a spiritual war," he says, "not just for your nation but for our nation and for largely the Christian western world, which is in decline because they've turned away from God."
Christian believers in Australia held their Day of Prayer and Fasting on Feb. 10 and followed it with a 40-day Prayer and Worship Relay that started on Ash Wednesday.
Marsh tells OneNewsNow he sees God at work, citing among other things the historical meeting between the leaders of North Korea and South Korea announcing a denuclearization agreement which he calls a miracle.
"But the fundamental need we have in both America and Australia is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the turning back to God as a nation," Marsh declares. "No government can save their country. Only Jesus Christ can."
