Senator Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) recently spoke from the Senate floor urging passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which he says is a much-needed update to the Bill Clinton-era North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He argues that the USMCA is another example where President Donald Trump surprised his critics.

"The president came up with an agreement that Mexico likes and an agreement that Canada likes – and one that is helpful to labor, management, business, and the agricultural sector. So it's a win all the way across the board," he states.

Wicker, Roger (R-Mississippi)Wicker urges Pelosi (D-California), as speaker of the House of Representatives, to take up the measure without delay.

"My advice to Nancy Pelosi would be [that] we need to have something to show from a year of work over in the House – and right now it's mainly been investigations and impeachment," Wicker contends. "A little accomplishment for the working Americans would maybe make her look a little better. I hope she concludes that because it would really be helpful to the country as a whole."

Wicker predicts if Pelosi does that, America will witness a rare opportunity for bipartisanship in the U.S. Congress.

The USMCA is expected to pass both the House and the Senate with bipartisan majorities.
