Conservatives and people of faith can shop wisely with the debut of a new website.

The theme of 2ndVote, a new website for consumers, is “Follow the money.” Chris Walker, who heads the organization, tells OneNewsNow the website will help conservatives make sure their spending supports their values.

Credit card swipe“We decided to build the database and build a website or app to allow conservative consumers to take information and see where companies spend the money that we spend with them,” he shares. “Whether it has to do with issues like life, marriage, environment, or education, the list goes on and on. We need to empower ourselves to know where our money is going and follow the money.”

OneNewsNow tested out the website by picking the category of abortion, and specifically Planned Parenthood. The website indicated that Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Exxon Mobil, Macy's and many other companies pump money into the biggest abortion-provider in the United States.

“We hope that the conservative consumer can use a tool like 2ndVote and really make a difference and learn and understand, even engage these companies and say Hey, I'm one of your consumers and I don't appreciate this. I would like to see this stopped,’ Walker explains.

He adds that conservatives do spend time getting up-to-speed on issues, especially leading up to elections. However, they spend less time tracking where their dollars go after that money lands in the hands of corporations. 2ndVote is designed to help resolve that by helping shoppers pay attention to what they vote for with their dollars.
