One attorney says New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D) is "living in la-la land" as he helps finance elections in four states to gain voter approval for homosexual "marriage."
The billionaire philanthropist has also announced the formation of a new project meant to influence nationwide elections that align with his views. But Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, believes Bloomberg is out of touch with the American people and with reality.
"Anyone who imagines that the government [or] that anyone can radically redefine and thereby deconstruct the institution of legitimate marriage is living in la-la land," the attorney states.
"Despite the euphemistic civil rights language that the left disingenuously applies," Barber says the reality is that marriage is a covenant relationship between one man and one woman, and it is the best environment for raising children.
He further adds that the mayor of the Big Apple "is comparing apples to oranges when he pretends there can be such a thing as same-sex marriage."
"You know, you can take an apple, spray paint it orange and call it an orange, but it's still an apple. And so-called progressives, to include Mayor Bloomberg, are simply on the wrong side of progress and on the wrong side of history when it comes to protecting the institution of marriage," the Liberty Counsel Action vice president asserts.
He concludes that investing money to encourage others to promote homosexual marriage "is promoting an evil."
