A Christian law firm is calling on the federal government to stop sending U.S. taxpayer dollars to Egypt and Libya.
David French, senior counsel at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), says it is time for the Obama administration to end its foreign policy of "appeasement and apologies" and stop sending U.S. taxpayer dollars to countries which permit and support Islamic terrorism bent on destroying America.
"The government of Egypt stood by and allowed our embassy to be ransacked, then they compounded it by refusing to apologize," he summarizes. "[They] then made it even worse than that by calling for further protests. So, why would we send billions of dollars to a nation that takes that kind of action?"
French goes on to explain that Libya's situation is more complicated.
"There's some indication that there was some inside assistance that allowed the security to be breached. At the same time, the government has immediately apologized and seems to be participating and cooperating in the investigation," he details. "It's a bit more complicated, even though the events there were more tragic."
Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has already introduced legislation to strip U.S. foreign aid to Egypt, Libya and Pakistan.
