By order of top government officials, China is cleansing college and university campuses of evangelistic activities.
ChinaAid has released the secret Communist Party Central Committee document, which includes detailed instructions for a nationwide crackdown. Bob Fu tells OneNewsNow the purpose is to keep Christianity away from the brightest minds in China, who will eventually become professionals and government leaders.
"[The document] listed very specific steps to counter the so-called 'religious infiltration' by using more Communist Party propaganda, or what they call the 'warm approach' by the party officials working in the university campuses to capture the minds and hearts of the university students who are attracted to Christianity."
Fu believes the success of evangelism on campuses in the past has made party officials nervous. There are already reports of persecution in this effort.
"Some professors' grants were removed … for simply studying about Christianity, and some university students were warned by the security and university officials not to engage with house churches," the ChinaAid founder reports.
But he does not believe the new effort will deter the gospel's rapid expansion in China.
The documents ChinaAid obtained blame infiltration on the Western Church.
