Highlighting moral issues

Charlie Butts   (OneNewsNow.com) Thursday, September 06, 2012

A political action committee is running an ad campaign in Charlotte, North Carolina this week to draw attention to moral issues present in the presidential race.

The ad features a couple discussing traditional marriage, and it ends with both deciding that they will vote their values and for the Romney/Ryan team this election.

Bauer, Gary (American Values)Gary Bauer, chairman of the Campaign for American Values, says this ad touches on a key issue for the 2012 election.

"It's been exciting to run the ad," he tells OneNewsNow. "Of course, we're getting the usual hate mail and hate e-mails and threats and so forth, which happens these days when you defend normal marriage. But we think this should be a central part of the debate in the country during this important presidential election."

Bauer recognizes the emphasis on the economy and the nation's huge budget deficit, which he believes is also a moral issue.

"But at the end of the day, I actually think it's going to be our virtue deficit that brings us down," he declares. "If we keep destroying unborn children, if we redefine God's institution of marriage -- I think a country that does those things will find itself in deep trouble not only economically, but also in many other ways."

Bauer plans to run the ad and other pro-life spots in as many swing states as possible, because he believes those are the issues people need to have on their minds when they vote in November.
