A political action committee is running an ad campaign in
Charlotte, North Carolina this week to draw attention to moral
issues present in the presidential race.
The ad features a couple discussing traditional marriage, and it
ends with both deciding that they will vote their
values and for the Romney/Ryan team this election.
Gary Bauer, chairman of the Campaign for American
Values, says this ad touches on a key issue for the 2012
"It's been exciting to run the ad," he tells OneNewsNow. "Of
course, we're getting the usual hate mail and hate e-mails and
threats and so forth, which happens these days when you defend
normal marriage. But we think this should be a central part of the
debate in the country during this important presidential
Bauer recognizes the emphasis on the economy
and the nation's huge budget deficit, which he believes
is also a moral issue.
"But at the end of the day, I actually think it's going to be
our virtue deficit that brings us down," he declares. "If we keep
destroying unborn children, if we redefine God's institution of
marriage -- I think a country that does those things will find
itself in deep trouble not only economically, but also in many
Bauer plans to run the ad and other pro-life spots in as
many swing states as possible, because he believes those
are the issues people need to have on their
minds when they vote in November.
