One ministry is hitting the road, collecting books and resources for Christians in the Philippines.

stack of booksChristian Resources International is on a special "road trip" throughout Michigan and Ohio. The ministry is taking a trailer through the two Midwestern states, collecting from Christians books that will be sent to those in the Philippines who have been hit hard by the recent typhoon and record rainfalls.

John Lowrey with CRI says the outreach is getting great response.

"What we're asking people to do is not just bring any book, but to bring a special book," he shares. "To think of one [book] that God has used in their own lives to teach them something special or to move them in a spiritual direction -- something that has really been meaningful to them. And then as they bring their book, we're asking them to write that testimony right in the front cover."

Lowrey says CRI plans to make several road trips throughout the year to collect books.
