A New Zealand evangelism group has come to America to bring youngsters to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The Lads BandThe Lads initially targeted teenagers with music and stage antics, but lead singer Mark Mallard says their focus has changed.

"We came over to the United States about four years ago and we had pretty much a change of direction from the Boss," he explains. "We really felt like God was calling us to go younger, and so now our ministry is focused on the kind of in-between age -- the preteens where so many young people make decisions to follow Christ."

Their ministry now targets third- through sixth-graders. But often, says Mallard, parents aw well are passionate about what The Lads are doing.

"In fact, a few weeks ago we played in the church, and one mother said to us, 'My kids have been so affected by what you have done. But I have to be honest with you, they always want to listen to it in the car on the way to school -- and once I've dropped them off, I got to tell you, I actually turn it up louder because I'm loving it, too,'" he notes.

The Lads have set up a website and have produced a television show. Their album is titled The Lads.
