Abortion clinic director sued for concealing rape, incest

Planned ParenthoodThe former director of education and training for Ohio Planned Parenthood clinics is now in Boise, Idaho, and is being monitored closely by pro-life groups.

Julia Piercey is named in a lawsuit where 16-year-old Denise Fairbanks became pregnant by her own father, told the Planned Parenthood staff, and received an abortion at their facility. Yet the crimes of incest and statutory rape were never reported to authorities. The father, who according to an Idaho Values Alliance (IVA) press release had abused his daughter since she was 13 years old, was eventually sent to prison, "no thanks to Planned Parenthood."

IVA's executive director Bryan Fischer tells OneNewsNow Piercey had a formal policy against compliance with the reporting law.

"Planned Parenthood had a 'don't ask, don't tell' [policy]," he contends. "Those are her words in her own handwriting, so apparently the philosophy she was imparting to their staff is, 'Look, we don't want you to ask whether sexual abuse is taking place. We don't want them to tell us if sexual abuse is taking place. And if they happen to do it, we'll do our best to find a way to cover it up.'"

Bryan FischerFischer says he and other pro-lifers plan to keep a close watch on Idaho's Planned Parenthood facilities. "Because if she's done it in Ohio, she may be doing it in Idaho," says the activist. "And we want to protect the sexual innocence and the sexual purity of Idaho's young women," he adds. "And if her training is compromising that, then we want that to come to light and we want some action taken."

Piercey faces another lawsuit in which a 13-year-old girl received an abortion at one of Piercey's clinics after becoming pregnant by her 21-year-old soccer coach. This incidence of sexual abuse went unreported as well.
