On Wednesday, As the World Turns -- which is owned by P&G -- featured two homosexual characters kissing. Earlier this year, the show included a similar scene, after which the American Family Association (AFA) and other pro-family groups encouraged people to contact the consumer products company.

With this latest development, AFA president Tim Wildmon says it appears that Cincinnati-based P&G is making a concerted effort to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

P&G products"Proctor & Gamble is a leader -- they're the largest television advertiser in the world," Wildmon points out. "And here they are, using their soap opera to advance and promote more gratuitous, homosexual, [and] sexual content into their programming."

According to Wildmon, complaints to the international conglomerate have fallen on deaf ears. "We've asked them not to do this, but they've decided this is the direction they want to go," the pro-family leader laments. "And it's unfortunate, because I think a lot of people, a lot of consumers who buy Proctor & Gamble products every day are not going to appreciate their promotion of this."

Wildmon encourages people to contact P&G and let them know they do not support such blatant promotion of the homosexual agenda. And while P&G officials say they want to treat everyone equally, the AFA president argues the company is alienating its core base.

In an "Action Alert" to its supporters on Thursday evening, AFA states P&G "has resumed using explicit, open-mouth homosexual kissing" and includes a link where the more recent scene can be viewed, as well as a link that allows individuals to send an email message to P&G chairman A.G. Lafley.
