A Catholic nun is acting as a patient escort at an Illinois abortion clinic.
The Dominican nun's active support has been going on for a number of years, according to Ann Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League. "Sister Donna Quinn is one of those, what we would like to call renegade nuns, who go[es] against the grain of what the Catholic Church teaches, and [she] actually supports a woman's choice of having an abortion," reports Scheidler. "She's been active in opposing pro-life missions for a long time." Scheidler explains that Quinn's support includes demonstrations in front of the Pro-Life Action League's headquarters in Chicago. The Catholic Church is steadfastly against abortion, so Scheidler wonders why the Dominican order permits Quinn to work at abortion clinics. "If you don't stand up for the most defenseless, the helpless unborn, [and if you] don't give them a chance to get born, they're not ever going to need any of those other rights that anybody stands up for," Scheidler contends. Quinn has been acting as an abortion clinic escort for at least half a dozen years, according to a LifeSiteNews report.
