baby feetAttendees at the National Right to Life Committee Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, have returned home ready to do battle for life.

With the ascension of Barack Obama, who is a staunch abortion advocate, and a pro-abortion majority in Congress, National Right to Life Committee president Wanda Franz believes pro-lifers face an uphill battle in the coming years. However, she notes that attendees left the convention feeling energized.

"We know that we have a lot of work to do, and we're just eager to get it laid out before us so that we know what the next step should be," she says. "We're very aware of the dangers of the upcoming healthcare debate in particular, and many other issues that are going to be before us."

One issue Franz notes is tax-funded abortion on demand that is likely to be part of the healthcare plan. Franz also says attendees who voted for Obama because of the economy now outwardly express regret.

Wanda Franz (NRLC)"There's a lot of evidence that people realize that we have a problem and that we really need to get busy and work on it," she concludes.

Franz also says one of the most heartening parts of the convention has been seeing teenagers and college-age men and women participating in workshops, educating themselves to take the pro-life message into their communities.
